WILDLIFE The first day at sea we had a school (a pod) of dolphins swimming with the the ship on the port side where our stateroom was. We saw some porpoises but they were pretty solitary and came up just for air so we got a glimpse of the dorsal fin. Most of the cruise we were in prime waters for viewing humpback whales and orcas. None of the humpbacks came close, but we saw lots of spouts, and the occasional big tail off in the distance. Binoculars were almost a last minute bring-along but they were indispensable. We did not see any orcas.
SUNSETS Sundown was not until 10PM at the latitudes we were cruising. As we left Skagway, the aft bar gave some of the nicest vistas as the sun set in the NW.
